Amy and Will's Rustic Country Wedding at Southdowns Manor
Published: 14 November 2023Hiring an exclusive-use venue like Southdowns Manor comes with a myriad of benefits, including being free to style the space to suit your taste. If there is something our venue does well, it’s transforming to perfectly suit the chosen wedding style for each of our lovely couples. Our immaculately presented manor house is the ultimate blank canvas! Amy and Will’s rustic country theme was a gorgeous choice for a late September wedding at Southdowns Manor. From their chosen photographer right the way through to the floral decor, every detail was carefully considered by the couple. Here is how they brought their chic, country-style wedding to life with us…
Falling In Love
Everyone’s checklist for their ideal wedding venue is different. When asked what made Amy and Will fall in love with our venue specifically, the couple chose three key features that stood out for them: “the beautiful white building, the option of an outside wedding and the honeymoon suite.”Rustic Country Theme
The couple’s rustic country theme was present throughout their wedding day in an understated and seamless manner. Decorative touches like a cream aisle carpet, dusky pink chair sashes and the vintage bicycle that stood at the entrance of our venue to welcome guests in, were just some of the subtle ways in which the couple brought this theme to life. Will and Amy’s country garden inspired floral arrangements showcased beautiful ivory roses alongside subtle touches of pink and sage green that added rural elegance. The additions of jam jars decorated with gypsophila flowers and eucalyptus leaves made the pair’s table decor stand out with muted pops of colour for subdued elegance. The couple’s three-tiered ‘naked’ cake was the perfect accompaniment to their rural-inspired wedding day. There is something so tempting about an exposed sponge cake!
The Outfits
Amy’s off-shoulder tulle gown looked so gorgeous and romantic, especially when paired with a wavy up-do and petite pearl jewellery. Will’s three-piece blue suit and polished brown shoes were not only perfectly in keeping with the rustic country theme, but also perfectly off-set the blush pink bridesmaid dresses. The newlyweds and their party looked flawless!Romantic Photography
Capturing Will and Amy’s wedding day was Sonagh Sykes of Footprints Through The Lens Photography. Amy said that she adored Sonagh’s warm and romantic approach to taking photographs.A Stand Out Moment
Amy and Will both agreed that their stand-out wedding day moment was enjoying their incredible band, The Ed Martin Duo, performing. Live music can certainly be a very unique and meaningful addition to wedding day celebrations. It Will All Go To Plan
We know first hand that planning a wedding can seem like a huge undertaking, which is why we always ask our co Couples what advice they would give others when looking ahead at their wedding day. Amy simply said, “just trust it will all go to plan.” It may seem easier said than done, but we agree with our bride in that you can rest assured that our expert team is always on hand to take the emotional stress out of organising your dream wedding day. Once the planning has been done, being able to put all your trust in your wedding coordinator and the rest of our team means you can be present on your big day and enjoy every single moment.A Special Mention
Amy kindly thanked our team for their hard work in keeping her special day running smoothly, with a special mention to one person in particular, “everyone and everything about your venue is just amazing and gave us our perfect wedding! Becky (wedding coordinator) deserves special recognition as she was absolutely wonderful.” Wishing Mr and Mrs Warren a lifetime of love and happiness…
