There’s nothing quite like a romcom to get you in the mood for wedding season, unless of course wedding season has been cancelled… *enter lockdown*. Many brides across the country have had to park their plans to exchange vows this year due to the pandemic, but all is not lost! At Little Mistress we’re firm believers in making the best of a strange situation. With the wonders of modern technology and online shopping, there’s no reason you can’t have a sentimental soirée all from the comfort of your own home, until you can properly celebrate your nuptials with your loved ones in person!

Below we’ve recapped some of the most iconic musical moments from the best rated wedding movies, for you to check out before you head off to listen to the full playlist and raise a glass from your sofa!

Love Actually – Peter and Juliet’s Wedding. It’s hard to believe that it was 17 years ago that Keira Knightley and Chiwetel Ejiofor graced our screens for the first time in one of the most iconic movie wedding scenes ever. Love Actually is first on our list because who doesn’t love a flash mob neo-soul rendition of ‘All You Need is Love’ accompanied by a brass band? The whole movie soundtrack is great too, it features romantic music from a whole host of artists we love, including the Sugababes and the Beach Boys. Bridesmaids – Lillian and Doug Get Married Bridesmaids has so many unforgettable scenes it’s hard to choose just one. From the moment Annie gets stuck on the moving mechanical gate after she tries to climb over it, to that dress try-on, food poisoning scene. If lockdown is getting you down, Bridesmaids is the perfect tonic! Lilian and Doug’s wedding is particularly hilarious and proves that friendship is just as important as romance. The Wedding Singer – The Aeroplane Scene Shoulder pads, perms and PVC feature heavily in the hit The Wedding Singer, as well as some of the most iconic romantic movie scenes of all time. Remember the string quartet playing Journey’s ‘Don’t Stop Believing’ whilst Robbie Hart gets stood up at the altar? 80’s fashion is back with a vengeance – we’re all loving high waisted acid wash denim and animal print, so it’s hilarious to throwback to 1985 to see where some of the looks originated from. This film takes the top spot for the soundtrack with the most Spotify plays on our list, making it technically the most popular wedding movie soundtrack of all time! Here’s an iconic clip from the aeroplane scene where Adam Sandler serenades Drew Barrymore, with the help of Billy Idol.
