Joanne and David
Joanne and David
Published: 26 July 2017Joanne and David have known each other for over 10 years, but romance only blossomed at their friends' wedding 5 years ago when Dave plucked up the courage to ask Jo out. Dave proposed while they were on holiday in Morocco in October 2015 and they wasted no time in planning their wedding soon upon their return to Scottish soil. As Jo is from Fife originally, the couple wanted their wedding to be there too, and once they visited Balbirnie the choice was easy - it is a stunning location, full of character and charm, with most importantly incredibly helpful staff. It was also extremely well placed for their friends and family from across Scotland to travel to.
Joanne said ‘Christine, Meghan and the rest of the staff at the Balbirnie were incredibly helpful in arranging every aspect of the day - their attention to detail is second to none, but they were also more than happy for Dave and me to direct the day in the way we wanted. The venue itself is so luxurious, from the elegant Orangery where we had our ceremony, the grandeur of the Ballroom where we had our wedding breakfast and evening reception, to the sumptuous bedrooms, everything was perfect. The food was also out of this world, and many of our guests commented on how it was the best meal they have ever had at a wedding! Given my love of dogs, the icing on the cake was having Balfour (the Balbirnie's resident cocker spaniel) there to greet the bride and groom - what a wonderful surprise!'
'The Balbirnie really did provide us with the greatest day of our lives with memories we will cherish forever. Both Dave and I would make no hesitation in recommending the Balbirnie to any other brides and grooms-to-be!'
