Published: 26 July 2017‘We chose Melville Castle as our wedding venue as I have always imagined having a fairy tale wedding since I was a little girl. When Sean and I viewed the castle, we fell in love with it. It was the perfect setting for a fairy tale wedding and the castle has a true Scottish feeling to it. Just what we wanted.‘
The flower girls & bridesmaids walked down the aisle to organ music playing Highland Cathedral, the piper (Scotpipe) piped in the bride to Highland cathedral. Everyone commented on the goosebumps they got hearing the piper, it was beautiful. After the ceremony the rain started outside (It’s a proper Scottish wedding now said the piper) but fortunately for the couple this wasn’t an issue as the castle is that beautiful inside there were plenty of places for photos. They then entered the marquee which looked absolutely stunning with white chair covers, mocha ribbon with ivory lace, and a diamante pearl broach provided by Fancy that. Gold and ivory lanterns, LOVE lights at the side of the dance floor and a Ferrero roche stand.
There was some tension at the speeches due to our wedding falling on cup final day, the groom being a Hibs fan and the best man supporting Rangers. Sean was delighted as Hibs scored the winning goal following the speeches and won the cup for the first time in 114 years. Celebrations all round for the football fans. The evening reception had a wonderful atmosphere with the band, Splendid Gentlemen who had everyone up dancing and were amazing. ‘Our wedding was definitely one of the best days of our lives.’
