Planning a wedding is such an exciting time, but it can have moments of feeling daunting and overwhelming too! Ultimately, a day that reflects you and your partner will make it special, but there are some key elements you can plan for to make it a perfect day for you and your guests. THE VENUE This is usually the starting point for most couples when they start wedding planning and a great way to wow your guests on arrival! There are so many wonderful venue options nowadays and when couples pick a venue that reflects their personality, whether it’s a barn, stately home or somewhere quirky, the guests will be guaranteed to remember it. food! (Whilst remembering to be thoughtful to those with dietary needs of course.) Another key element of the meal is the seating plan. We know lots of couples dread it, but it can make or break the day for some of your guests. Try to be considerate when planning who sits with who, and if you have to break up groups of friends or family, try to sit them near each other so they can still mingle and chat easily. SPECIAL CEREMONIES There’s no getting away from it, weddings are an emotional day and the ceremony is a part of the day where you hope your guests feel that emotion with you rather than going through the motions before the party. We’re not suggesting you make your ceremony overly long to stand out, but there might be personal touches you can add in – from writing your own vows, the readings you choose, or having a special song played.

FOOD GLORIOUS FOOD Don’t be offended if people mainly remember your wedding day for having good food! It’ll be one of the biggest expenses of the day so you want to be sure your guests love every bit of the meal you choose. As with venue options, there is so much choice for wedding food these days, from fine dining to rustic BBQs, so make sure you pick the foods you love and inject your personality into the food! (Whilst remembering to be thoughtful to those with dietary needs of course.) Another key element of the meal is the seating plan. ENTERTAINMENT AND THE PARTY Whether you pick a band or a DJ, make sure they can play a wide range of genres and eras that will keep your guests on the dancefloor all night. Your partner and you might love classic rock, but be mindful to keep the music choices varied so you’re not alone on the dance floor! Another great way to keep your guests involved in the party is to ask them to add a favourite song to their RSVP so you know everyone will get a chance to hear a song that is guaranteed to get them dancing. YOUR GUESTS' NEEDS Of course, you won’t please every single guest at every single part of the day, but where you can, try to consider their differing needs. For example, you may have your heart set on a rustic outdoor wedding with hay bales for guests to sit on, but that might not be comfortable for all your guests. Similarly, if your wedding venue is largely outdoors , make sure there is not only a good contingency for bad weather, but also places for your guests to seek shade if it is exceptionally hot. Weddings are a long day and you don’t want your guests to wilt in the heat! DON'T SWEAT THE SMALL STUFF Naturally, you will be planning for the most perfect day ever and possibly feeling the pressure. Yes, lots of your guests will appreciate the small details, but ultimately your guests will only take away memories of how the day made them feel. So keep the day relaxed, don’t panic if some of the smaller details don’t go to plan, and just enjoy the atmosphere of the day rather than running it like a military operation. Enjoy yourself!
