The Hurt Arms in Ambergate, Derbyshire, is a quintessential blend of rustic and contemporary. The historic building was renovated in 2018, offering an industrial-style wedding venue, nestled along the River Amber and Ambergate Woods.
Built by the influential Hurt family during the industrial revolution in 1874. Therefore the renovation 2018 was respectfully carried out with frequent nods towards the industrial heritage of the building.
Exposed brickwork, steel frameworks and contemporary features offer a stylish setting for your wedding celebration.
An experienced and friendly team will assist you throughout the day, from your very first meeting to calming any last minute nerves before walking down the aisle, an setting up for your first dance.
We have six individually designed en-suite rooms for you and your wedding party. All with king size beds, crips sheets, premium toiletries, gowns and slippers to relax in luxury and tranquillity after your big day.
Our sister venue, The Canal Inn (renovated in 2022), has a purpose built pre-wedding suite for you to spend the night before the big day with your wedding party. A luxury car transfer to The Hurt Arms will be prepared and waiting for you so there is one less thing to worry about.
Set along the A6, the historical Hurt Arm sits proudly with the Ambergate woodland backdrop. Ideally situated with the village train station just across the road, the venue is easily accessed via rail.
On the main route out of the village of Ambergate, The Hurt Arms also has easy access from the local quaint villages and towns.

We had our wedding here in July, we couldn't have asked for anything more.
The team were amazing at making our day so special and memorable. The venue was stunning, the food was amazing, the hotel rooms are exceptional and nothing was too much trouble from any member of staff.
Our wedding co-ordinators was brilliant and more than helpful and took all the stress off ourselves. They made us feel at ease and comfortable and gave us a stress free day.

If you're looking for a wedding venue. LOOK NO FURTHER! The Hurt Arms gave us a everything we wanted and more. The staff are amazing, so friendly and hard working. Our wedding was incredible (Make Sure you have the hog roast in the evening!!) We also hired a white bouncy castle from The Hurt Arms and it really helped that it was one less thing to organise on the day. Beautiful beautiful day! Thank you!

The dreamiest of weddings days, and this was dow to you all The Hurt Arms. The organisation on and before the day was everything we could've wanted. The wedding car transfer was something we just couldn't imagine getting anywhere else! Also saved us some pennies not having to hire any. Thank you for everything you all did for us, special mention for our coordinator Mia. She was so lovely and even helped chase our supplier when they were running behind.
